What Size Tank is Right For a Betta Fish?
A few months back I bought my first Betta fish. As I looked through various forums and resources I found it hard to find one agreed upon answer as to what size tank I should house my new fish in. I've seen them in anything from a vase to a ten gallon tank, so I was a little frustrated with the lack of consensus. After a lot of research I wanted to share my findings to help other new Betta owners avoid the headache I experienced when looking for an answer!
Tank Size Misconception You'll find a lot out there about Bettas being fine in little tiny tanks and other people saying that they need a large tank to thrive. So what's the truth? Get your Betta the largest tank you can afford and easily manage. Those saying your Betta is fine in a vase or tiny tank justify it by saying Bettas naturally live in warmer regions of Asia in rice paddies. These people may be confused if they envision rice paddies as little puddles. Realistically rice paddies are often waterlogged for miles, meaning a wild Betta fish would be used to one huge puddle.
"Do you suggest a certain size?" When buying my fish at the pet store I realized that the 1 gallon "Betta Starter Tank" was $10.99, and the ten gallon tank was $14.99. That's weird, right? Turns out ten gallons is the standard size and most companies produce them in bulk. The fact is, extra five dollars was nothing for me when I could have ten times the amount of space for my fish. I would suggest nothing less than five gallons, this way your fish has plenty of room to swim and explore. A somewhat more minor consideration is how boring or exciting you want your tank to be. You can't fit much for your fish in a 1 gallon vase, and no one wants to look at a plain bowl with a sad looking fish in it. A larger tank will help to ensure the longevity and happiness of your fish and hopefully improve your overall betta experience as well. With any luck, you've gained something from this piece and will be able to make an informed decision when it comes to buying your new pet a home. Good luck to you and your new or soon-to-be companion!

Using LPG In Domestic Properties
The installation of LPG has become increasingly popular in rural areas where people have limited access to a mains gas network. LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) has a number of benefits which people are becoming increasingly aware of. For one thing, in comparison to it's competitors, it is more environmentally friendly. Many experts have claimed that LPG has the lowest level of carbon emissions, poses little risk in terms of pollution threat to the soil or water, and burns very cleanly with a few emissions.
With vast improvements in technology, there is now greater flexibility in its installation process. This is very beneficial to household owners who can now choose whether to install them above or below the ground. In order to not distort the look of the land too much, most people opt to store the LPG vessels underground. However, it is up to the individual in question on how they would like their LPG installed. Your LPG supplier will be able to assist you further on operational guidelines and further guidance on the continual maintenance involved in the aftermath of the LPG installation.
It is useful to note that LPG is the only non-mains gas fuel which provides a real and controllable flame for cookers and fires - just like mains gas does. Although oil has often been regarded as the main fuel source in non-mains gas areas, this is about to change as the benefits of LPG become more widely known.
LPG explained
LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) can be best described as the closest alternative to mains gas and is used for central heating, water heating, and cooking. LPG can be available in liquid or gaseous form and is stored in bulk tanks or cylinders, depending on the required usage.
The advantages of using LPG
If you are looking for a cost-effective system then the LPG heating system could be the solution for you. Your LPG system will only be heating your water to the correct temperature when you will be needing it. This will save you on energy.
The LPG system is very convenient and versatile. It can be used for a number of purposes such as fuelling central heating, water heating, fires and cookers with a real and controllable flame for gas hobs, ovens and fires
You do not need to be worried about any ground or water pollution hazards.
You can have your pick from a wide choice of appliances available from leading manufacturers
The disadvantages of using LPG
As the LPG increases in popularity, it has had to raise its prices in order to stay competitive. Therefore you may save on cost in the long-run, however be prepared to dig deep into your pockets for the initial installation fees
Depending on which system you go for, installing an LPG from scratch can prove to be quite expensive. It can also spoil the look of your land, although if you decide to go for an underground tank then this should not be much of a problem.
Be prepared for regular maintenance costs as LPG boilers need to be checked annually to ensure that they run as efficiently and to the standard that they should.
Some critics have argued that LPG cannot be considered as a clean source of energy as it produces carbon dioxide when it is burnt.
