Why is it that on C-Span, when you see Congressmen addressing a crowd, the chamber is always empty?
Why is it that the only time you see a full chamber is for the state
of the union address? Its a great mystery to me why no one seems
to be in attendance when they occasionally pan the seats.
I'm told that those speeches are made purely for the benefit of the local constituents, and to get a statement in the record....
I wonder why the more "interesting" loose cannons, like Kucinich,
never gathers a crowd. If I was in congress, I'd go see the "characters" speak for sport, or go see Ted Kennedy speak just to bet on when he'd keel over from his latest all-night bender.
Congressmen, go watch your buddies speak! Empty seats don't look good on cable TV!
